ACA writes to US Department of State on the proposed closure of U.S. consulates and cessation of in-person delivery of consular services abroad, March 21, 2025
On March 21, 2025, ACA wrote to senior officials at the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs on the proposed closure of U.S. consulates and cessation of in-person delivery of consular services abroad. ACA asked for careful consideration to how the U.S. State Department can ensure that critical consular services are not interrupted for the community of Americans abroad. ACA gave its recommendations and stressed the importance of U.S. Embassy and Consulars services for the 5 million U.S. citizens living and working overseas.
