HR5799 Overseas Americans Financial Access Act (right click to open link), and HR5800 The Commission on Americans Living Abroad Act (right click to open link). HR5799 will help alleviate the financial access lock-out issues US citizens overseas are facing and HR5800 will create a commission where all the issues facing US citizens overseas can be heard and discussed so that Congress can develop recommendations on actions to rectify these issues.

This bill is the first step towards correcting the tax filing and compliance issues that many overseas US citizens are facing. Recognizing that many US citizens overseas face complex and costly compliance issues, this bill will simplify the filing requirements and reduce the cost of compliance.
