Congresswoman Titus, Congresswoman Maloney, Congressman Raskin and Congressman Schiff have co-signed a letter to House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal asking for a simplified tax form for Americans filing from overseas.

While this suggestion is an excellent start to addressing the tax compliance problems for Americans overseas, the only real solution is Residence-Based taxation (RBT).

The co-signers of the letter have helped open the door to the House Ways & Means Committee, and is certainly evidence that individual Representatives are hearing from the community and from organizations like ACA. However, broad-based community support to push Congressman Richard Neal to host hearings so that RBT can be considered as a solution is still needed. Join ACA’s write-in campaign calling on the Chairman to host hearings now.
