Social Security Strengthens Identity Proofing Requirements and Expedites Direct Deposit Changes to One Day

Recent changes to the Social Security Administration's identification verification processes will have serious implications for U.S. citizens living overseas given in-person requirements for identification verifications for certain services. ACA is already working with our contacts at the Social Security Administration to discuss how Social Security will continue to provide beneficiaries overseas with full access to customer service and processes that will ensure that there is no interruption in the receipt of the benefits. ACA will provide updates as we learn more.
