ACA Australia-New Zealand Chapter Hosted SDFCU at March Virtual Meeting

ACA’s Aus-NZ Chapter hosted a State Department Federal Credit Union (SDFCU) presentation in March 2026, as well as provided an update on ACA news.  Because the services SDFCU provides are of broad interest to American citizens abroad, the Aus-NZ Chapter opened up the session to Americans throughout the Asia-Pacific region - promoting not only SDFCU resources available to Americans abroad but also ACA membership.

The meeting began with ACA Member Carmelan Polce providing a snapshot of ACA’s current advocacy efforts, particularly those surrounding Residency-Based Taxation.  Chapter members posed excellent questions and would be interested in hearing more as developments permit.

Sam Salmon led SDFCU’s excellent and engaging presentation.  Sam and several of her colleagues reside overseas and clearly understand the banking needs of Americans overseas.  Among recent upgrades to resources, SDFCU has recently added the capability for foreign national relatives to open their own accounts, integrate with Wise to ease those transactions, and link with a number of U.S. Government benefits agencies.  Ms. Salmon and her team welcomed further engagement and specific questions from SDFCU members and prospective members
