ACA’s efforts in Washington, DC / Tax, Estate & Financial Planning for US Taxpayers living in Switzerland

On Wednesday evening, September 27, 2023, over 50 attendees along with five presenters gathered at Gotham (Lausanne Gare) for an American Citizens Abroad Global Foundation (ACAGF) Town Hall. Topics coved included ACA’s efforts in Washington, DC and Tax, Estate & Financial Planning for US Taxpayers living in Switzerland.

Speakers included:

Marylouise Serrato, American Citizens Abroad (ACA) Executive Director - Marylouise joined ACA in 2002 working as Managing Director and in 2010 became Executive Director. ACA's Executive Director updated on ACA's advocacy efforts up on Capitol Hill, explained ACA-PAC and how this will help with advocacy efforts and gave general updates on the organization. Click for presentation.

Michael Mettler - Michael is a Senior International Tax Manager at Kahn, Litwin, Renza  Michael presented on US taxes for Americans in Switzerland. Click for presentation.

Matthew Berlin - Matthew is a Trust and Estates attorney specialized in working with Overseas Americans. Mathew is a partner at Rubin and Rudman LLP and he regularly visits Switzerland for work. Click for presentation.

Anna Vladau - Anna is a Swiss tax and estate planning attorney.  In 2022, Anna joined Bonnard Lawson as a partner in charge of strengthening Bonnard Lawson Swiss and international tax practice for presentation.

Jonathan Lachowitz – CFP® - Jonathan is Chairman of ACA; Certified Financial Planner in the US and Switzerland and owner of White Lighthouse Investment Management in Lausanne and Lexington, MA Jonathan has written extensively on personal finance for the Wall Street Journal. Click for presentation.
