IRS announces enhancements to “Get My Payment”
ACA continues to work with the IRS to address the problems Americans overseas are having accessing Get My Payment for recovery rebates. Get My Payment is a tracking and registration system that allows individuals to register their U.S. bank account information for direct deposit of their recovery rebates and to track the progress of their rebate. Get My Payment has proved problematic for individuals both living in the United States and overseas. The problems do not appear to be specific to individuals living outside the U.S. and accessing the system. Read more.
The IRS announced yesterday, April 26th, that enhancements to Get My Payment have been made. ACA has heard that some individuals have been able to successfully register their US banking information and track their recovery rebates.
ACA will continue to update the community as information becomes available.
Individuals should also check the FAQs found on the IRS website. These will help answer many of the elibiglity questions and general FAQs.
