At around noon today, Pres. Trump signed into law the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which was approved by Congress the day before yesterday. This law makes dramatic changes in the Internal Revenue Code, and there are a large number of very important, and some quite surprising, provisions affecting Americans abroad. A comprehensive analysis will take a great deal of time. However, because we have been paying attention to the details, step by step, we can make a number of points immediately.
