Call on Florida legislators to stop the reduction of US Social Security due to the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP)

HR. 82 and S.597 legislation calling for the repeal of the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) is gaining support, however, legislators in Florida need to be made aware and support efforts behind these two bills.

The Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) affects U.S. citizens working overseas whose foreign pension benefits may reduce their U.S. Social Security benefits, sometimes up to 50%. ACA continues to advocate that WEP unfairly targets U.S. citizens overseas.

House bill: H.R.82 - Social Security Fairness Act of 2023 as well as the Senate version S.597 - A bill to amend title II of the Social Security Act to repeal the Government pension offset and windfall elimination provisions address this problem.

Write the Florida Representatives and educate them on how WEP affects U.S. citizens living and working overseas as they are key States needed for support.
