Stop the reduction of US Social Security due to the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP)

Write to your Representatives in Congress and educate them on how WEP affects U.S. citizens living and working overseas.

The Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) affects U.S. citizens working overseas whose foreign pension benefits may reduce their U.S. Social Security benefits, sometimes up to 50%. ACA continues to advocate that WEP unfairly targets US citizens overseas.

House bill: H.R.82 - Social Security Fairness Act of 2023 as well as the Senate version S.597 - A bill to amend title II of the Social Security Act to repeal the Government pension offset and windfall elimination provisions address this problem.

Write to your Representatives in Congress and educate them on how WEP affects U.S. citizens living and working overseas and ask that they support  H.R.82 when it is brought to the floor of the House of Representatives for vote and support S.597 when the Senate votes on the bill.  Both bills have strong bi-partisan support.
